Nowadays, people are constantly staring at screens, from having to use any sort of technology for school, work, or any sort of personal enjoyment and entertainment. Children from the ages of 11-14 are reported to on average be spending about 9 hours a day watching a screen, and teenagers ages 15-18, average a screen time of 7.5 hours. Social media, communication, games, etc. all account for these hours, however, the consumption of any more of television is said to be the reason for half of this time spent staring at a screen of varying sizes. Hearstopper
“I recommend it because it is a show about young love with queer individuals. And it shows how growing up as queer should not be scary or shameful. It shows self-acceptance of oneself to let go of that shame that they were once carrying. And I think it’s also just a cozy and wholesome thing to watch. Grey Anatomy
“It’s the last show I’ve binge-watched. I would recommend it if you like hospital TVs with an insane amount of drama.” Alexia Salas, 12, shares an enjoyment with the very popular show with currently 19 seasons and can be found on Netflix and Hulu.
Sherlock (BBC)
“The crime mystery genre is very interesting. It always keeps me entertained and the story and plot lines were just magnificent. Give it a watch.” Cristina Zaldivar states that the show has 4 seasons and is available on Apple TV, and Prime Video and it is free on Vude.
Adventure Time
“The characters are awesome and the backstory is inspirational. It also teaches you valuable life lessons when it comes to friendship and family. And teaches you not to take life too seriously.” Haylie Mosqueda, 12, recommends the show with ten seasons available to watch on Hulu.
The Office
“You’re there for the Drama amongst friends and coworkers, and what happens when you have a unique boss? It’s a good laugh.” Maya Herrera, 12, states. The Office, another very popular show, has 9 seasons and can be watched on Peacock.
Twenty-Five Twenty-One
“You’re going to cry, that’s for certain, I cried for a week. It’s a slow-burn romance, it’s about an Olympic fencer and an NBC news reporter. They develop a friendship that turns into a romance, and they are always there for each other and would always have a great time together.” Recommended by Dana Banchon Molina, 12, it is one season long and it is available to watch on Netflix and has one season.
Supernatural
“It has a really good story, about people hunting all kinds of creatures that look like humans but are evil. It is very emotionally connected and has you sucked into the story. It can get you so angry and sad and cry because of how emotional it is.” Monique Ochoa, 12, says. Supernatural has 15 seasons and can be watched on Netflix, Vude, Apple TV, and Prime Video.
