The Powderpuff 2023 season has BEGUN! Boys are practicing for their cheerleading performance, and the girls’ teams have begun their practices. The junior vs senior game will take place on April 6....

On February 10, 2023, the boy's varsity basketball team competed in a CIF playoff game in the Downey High School Gymnasium where they, unfortunately, lost the game with a score of 40-54. The boy’s had an amazing season this year, with a record of 26-4, and although it may not have ended with the outcome that was hoped, the team is very proud of their performance this year and are grateful for the successful final season of their high school years.

Cheerleader, Diana Solis, 10, describes how/where the cheer team has been practicing and the struggles that have come along with it. “Because of Covid-19 we practice at an outside gym,” Solis stated. “During practices, we practice social distancing and stay six feet apart when possible.”
