As her first year as a photographer in The Downey Legend, Desere Hernandez, 12, wants to show what she’s capable of. She’s been taking photos practically her whole life, having taken a photography class in her junior year. Even though she’s a photographer she aspires to be an animator in the future, having over 12 years of experience drawing. And despite her different plans for the future, Hernandez intends to capture every needed moment to the best of her abilities as a photographer. People do photography for many different reasons, although there’s one main reason Hernandez continues to take photos. 

“I like the thought of being able to catch a memory or view of an image in one picture,” Hernandez said. “Because one picture can tell a whole story in it.”
