After much effort on ASB’s part, Winter Formal 2012 was held on Feb.3, at Knott’s Berry Farm, from 8 p.m. to midnight.
As the night arrived, various students prepared themselves for the upcoming dance. Taking a different sort of theme this year, the Associated Student Body decided to embrace “Enchanted Evening”.
“I’m glad they picked Enchanted Evening for the theme this year,” attendee Erl Brunet said.
Upon arriving, brightly colored dresses and young men in tuxedos were among the first things that could be seen. A long line awaited the students as they approached the entrance of Knott’s Berry Farm. After the tickets were turned in, the pupils were directed to the theme park’s Boardwalk Ballroom.
Entering the ballroom, tables with black coverings and an illuminated dance floor with colorful lights filled the room, not to mention a group of the 650 students or so that showed up to the event.
“Even though it was kind of crowded,” senior Stephanie Montez said, “I liked the fact that everything was decorated and organized.”
Apart from dancing the night away, rides such as Xcellorator, Supreme Scream, and Boomerang were open for students to enjoy the remainder of the night.
As the night was coming to an end, the annually nominated Winter Formal court took the stage in order to reveal 2012s king and queen. A moment of silence took over the area as the announcer proclaimed the winners: Robert Chism and Lisa Guerrero.
After a long period of enjoyment and entertainment, the night faded away into yet another memory in the minds of many.
