As a junior, Kristen Johnson made the task of being captain of the basketball team seem like a breeze. “At times I feel like it’s a little harder for me because I’m younger and I should be looking up to seniors rather than them looking at me for leadership,” Johnson said. With only 4 years of basketball experience, the player managed to become one of the lead scorers for her team, making her one of the most valuable offensive assets, as well as a threat on the defensive side of the court. Her leadership skills excel, and are shown through her strong sense of composure under pressure. She hopes to repeat her leadership role during the following year as a senior. The young captain expects to help her team achieve the ultimate goal of reaching the CIF playoffs at the end of the season.
