A Facebook group meant for gifting and repurposing items at home that are no longer in use was started on November 15, 2019 by a local Downey citizen named Karina Saucedo. “A teacher friend of mine from San Diego posted pictures of a beautiful library corner in her highschool class and all items were gifted from a buy nothing page,” Saucedo stated. “I looked up facebook groups in our area and there were groups in Lakewood and Long Beach, but none here, so I got to work.”
