Jocelyn Gonzalez, Copy Editor
In her final year at Downey High, Jocelyn Gonzalez is a returning writer for the Downey Legend and is going into her first year as a Copy Editor. With a nurturing and dedicated personality, Gonzalez hopes to one day graduate college and pursue a career in teaching children or journalism. As a result of quarantine boredom as a sophomore, Gonzalez ignited a spark of interest in journalism after joining the Downey Legend her junior year and loves to cover stories about school events and sports.
Reflecting on her years in high school, Jocelyn hopes that people will take her advice and truly push themselves to work hard and have fun. “Get involved, go to the football games, go join clubs, even if you don’t enjoy the club, go once in a while and it’s so important because it might spark an interest,” Gonzalez stated. “You have to push yourself to enjoy these high school moments because it’ll go by quick.”
