Presented with the problem of a global pandemic, Kim Lomeli found a way to continue to help her community by creating the DowneyCares club, whose goal is to brighten the days of COVID-19 victims in hospitals. “I have family that work at Kaiser and told me that it’s depressing seeing COVID people isolated with no one to talk to,” Lomeli stated. “My favorite part of the club is meeting new people at Downey who all have the same goal as us - help the Downey community in need.”
