The Eternals: Spoiler Warning

Officially done waiting for the day to come, Marvel fans across the world are exhilarated that they’re finally able to watch Marvel’s new movie, The Eternals, directed by Oscar winning director Chloé Zhao. The movie was just recently released in theaters on November 5, 2021, and has already made $71.3 million at the box office; making it the top hit movie so far as of this month.
The MCU film is about a group of immortal beings that have been on earth for thousands of years, who are protecting humans from deviants; also known as ‘lethal beasts’. As they are keeping individuals safe however, a new warning arises that could wreck earth and everyone who lives on it.
There are numerous of heros that are part of the large alliance, counting ten of them in total. Starring in the film includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Bryan Tyree Henry as Phastos, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
Many people had mixed feelings and opinions after watching the film, which created tension across the internet. Lots of individuals were surprised hearing everyone’s reactions to the movie.
Huge Marvel fan who has already watched the movie in theaters, Camila Avalos, 12, shared her honest opinions about it.
“Something that I wish happened in the movie was more screen time of all ten Eternals together, whether it be in a battle or a family reunion typesetting,” Avalos said. “I feel like we didn’t get enough of that.”
“My overall rating of The Eternals would have to be five out of five stars. I love the new characters, the action, the well incorporated comedy, and the dynamic of the Eternals as a team,” Avalos stated. “The movie is definitely in my top five MCU movies.”
Although viewers suggested some little improvements, they ended up having a positive outcome of the whole movie itself.
Another big Marvel fan who has watched the movie in theaters, Melony Lara, Cerritos College student, also shared her honest opinions about the movie too.
“My favorite character would definitely have to be Makkari, although being deaf, she delivered some of the most powerful lines in sign language,” Lara stated. “Lauren Ridloff portrayed the best on screen adaptation of a speedster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making the demonstration of her speed and strength one of the most insane things to be seen in theaters.”
“One thing that I wish had happened in the movie was Ajak, the leader of the Eternals, receiving more screen time,” Lara stated. “Although the route they went through with the character was unexpectedly surprising, I still wish we were able to see how Ajak was more capable of using her abilities and spending her time with the rest of the Eternals.”
“Almost being a perfect movie, my overall rating would be a four out of five. Chloe Zhao brought something different that we had never seen before in the MCU and I can’t wait to see what she brings in the sequel,” Lara stated. “The visuals were stunning and the cinematography is one the best you’ll ever see, the movie is definitely worth watching in theaters for a second time. ”
With the audience score piling in, Marvel fans around the world seem to be satisfied with the new film. With it being the most diverse cast, individuals finally felt seen and celebrated, whether it was the first lgbtq couple portrayed on screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or cultures and languages being properly represented.
