Avengers: Endgame
April 17, 2019
After the shocking cliffhanger of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel fans enthusiastically await for the upcoming film Avengers: Endgame. Slated for an April 26 release, the beloved characters will return on the big screen for a final encore. Featuring an ensemble cast of Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow) and many more, the film is expected to break box office records.
Coping with the events from Infinity War, senior Angel Puertas eagerly awaits for the conclusion of Marvel’s Phase 3.
“I’m excited because it’s almost like an ending to all of the build up we’ve seen with all the movies,” Puertas said. “I wanna see how they finish it off and see if they bring them all back because I have a lot of questions from the last movie.”
Endgame follows after Thanos wiped out half of the universe’s population. The remaining superheroes are desperately trying to undo the deaths of billions. With the help of multiple allies, “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” go on a mission to save the world once again.
Since Infinity War, fans have been coming up with their own theories as to how the next film will pan out. One of the popular theories include the original Avengers sacrificing themselves in order to defeat Thanos. However, some believe that only four of the six will be the ones to die.
Alma Rubio, 12, speculates which of the Avengers will make it to the end of the movie.
“I have a gut feeling Captain America is gonna die,” Rubio stated. “I feel like maybe Natasha will survive because she seems like the type to survive. Maybe Thor will survive too.”
After the era’s conclusion with Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to start off Marvel’s Phase 4. While the studio refuses to share certain details of their 5 year plan, multiple films such as Black Widow, The Eternals, and Black Panther 2 have already been confirmed.
Senior Jacob Ornelas shares his opinion as to what Marvel’s future will look like.
“Obviously, it’s not gonna be Avengers, but they probably are gonna keep going with some of the heroes,” Ornelas said. “Maybe they’ll do a third Spider-Man with Tom Holland or another Captain Marvel.”
It is speculated that Marvel’s movie lineup will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con or D23 Expo this summer. Until then, pre-sale tickets for Endgame are now available on online ticket websites such as Fandango and Atom Tickets.
